Spar loyalty points... not so loyal!

A few months ago the loyalty points machine at Spar Stoneridge Shopping Centre wasn't working. When enquiring about this, we were informed that it will be repaired. This device would work on and off for another month until it went off completely. While making a purchase we asked the cashier about the loyalty points who then casually informed us it was discontinued. We raised our concern with the management who said that it has been raised with the CEO of Spar as they've had thousands of complaints and even had people fill in a book with all their details including their loyalty card number. Since I have nearly R1000 in loyalty points on this card, I kept asking how far along they are with the enquiry. Last night, one of the cashiers said they do not think they are doing anything about it as they've stopped talking about it altogether. What bothers me here is that this "loyalty" system is not very loyal to its customers! I buy nearly daily at this spar and get treated like this. Pick n Pay does not have this problem with their loyalty points and it can be used at any store! I will most definitely be going all over social media with this.
