Spar Cedar (Bothasig) refuse to refund money

Good day, September 2020 I purchased groceries for the value of R8 417.88 but at the same time my bond went off so I didn't release the amount I actually paid for at Spar Bothasig, the amount was meant to be eight hundred odd and not eight thousand odd. neither the teller nor myself picked it up and I paid for it. I only picked up the error a year later when I did my tax. I immediately contacted Spar Bothasig (Cedar Spar) and they said I must contact the bank which I did and the bank said they can’t assist as it was over a year later even though I can see it on my bank statement. Spar Bothasig also says they will not refund me. Please can you assist me as this is alot of money and times are tough enough as it is. I have all the correspondence from Spar if you require them.
