Spar Brackenfell charges R1 for used thrown away boxes.

I usually have the best experience at this Spar.

Last night around 5.30pm, I needed empty boxes because I was moving.

The friendly security gaurd assisted but needed permission from the store manager, who in turn sent out an employee, who was on shift (at the fruit and veg pricing section).

That gentleman started off polite and asked for the number of boxes I needed and so on. Then he flat out said that each box costs a R1. I laughed because I have never paid for used empty boxes from a store before. I asked him if he's serious and with a straight face he said R1 per box. I was defeated and too in a hurry to raise it with the manager but I couldn't believe what had happened.

I went and got the boxes at PNP across the street but am so disappointment at the level of disrespect from the employee.
