Spar Bel Aires selling rotten meat, blames it on drivers

I would like to express my disappointment with the service I received from spar Bel Aires in North riding Jhb. On the 25th of December 2025 I purchased meat worth about R500 from the store only to realise that the meat was rotten. I went back to the shop and I was told to speak with the Indian lady who was the manager on duty.

I received the most unprofessional and pathetic customer service from this lady who had the audacity to tell me that it is not the shop's fault because their meat is transported from Durban and that the drivers sometimes switch iff the fridges on the trucks. She asked me if I had a receipt and I showed it to her but she then said she can't assist me and I need to write an email to the head office instead. My kids suffered from food poisoning and had running stomach for 3 days. She says we can't refund everyone who comes here with a complaint but I was merely asking for either a replacement if a refund wasn't possible but her unprofessionalism left a lot to be desired. I do not recommend anyone who wants to buy meat from this store as they're slowly replacing ShopRite.
