SPAR BEL-AIR Customer Victimization

It's a pity you cannot rate lower cos SPAR actually deserves a negative 100% rating.

Went into SPAR store this weekend and after paying for my goods and speaking to staff there for few minutes with my trolley of goods, I was rudely surprised when a security person confronted me after I had left the store. She asked for my till slip. Shocked as I was, I asked whom had requested this. Went back in the store to ask for store manager. After waiting for close to 5 minutes, I went with another staff to the back of the store where I found the first staff member idly chatting with the 'manager'. So seems that the first person was not interested in relaying message about incident to 'manager' - that speaks volumes about the quality of service about the store ... obviously they don't care about their customers.

Explained the incident to 'manager' and she was more confused on how to make up excuses. I've been a customer of SPAR BEL-AIR for over 6 years visiting the store on average 4 times a week and this is how they treat their regular and loyal customers. Explained to the 'manage' that in all my life the only times I've been asked to show my receipt was at the SPAR BEL-AIR branch. The 'manager' and staff at SPAR BEL-AIR made me feel like a ******** ... the best part was that my trolley contained about R50 worth of goods ... so it seems that I'm wiling to risk my reptutation for R50 - common sense would dictate otherwise but then again, it just shows the pathetic (lack of) service levels at SPAR BEL-AIR.

Spoke to SPAR Head of Customer Service (Janeen Burtonpye) and her best response was that they do the same at Makro. Told her that using Makro as a reference simply proved that they are looking for excuses to justify their actions - seems like SPAR condones victimizing their customers. I asked her if Makro gave their customers R500 free shopping voucher then would they do the same, since they do that at Makro - she could not provide a response. She further said that they do this at their stores as a training exercise of the cashiers.

So SPAR policy seems to be to victimize and make their loyal customers look like ******* as part of training of their cashiers. They cannot provide proper training so they resort to on the job embarrassment of their clients.

MAKES YOU THINK WHAT THE SPAR BRAND IS TRULY ABOUT!!!
