Short changing - Lotto counter
Hello Peter,

I do not take a lotto ticket often. I have probably taken x6 lotto tickets this year, at the Lotto counter at Knowles Spar Pinetown.

On 2 (two) of these occasions the same staff member coincidentally made a mistake giving me my change. First time was a few weeks ago when I purchased a lotto ticket for R20 with a R50 note, and only got R10 change, until I pointed out a mistake, and only then got the correct change.

Second time was on Saturday 27 June 2015 at about 10:10am (Cashiers name tag looked like Nonplhange - spelling? I am sure Knowles Spar will have a record of which staff member who was on the Lotto till / counter). I purchased a R20 lotto ticket using a R200 note. I was given R80 change, and the cashier continued to scratch around in a money bag behind a counter. After a few moments when she was done she looked at me, as if she can help me, I pointed out I paid with a R200 note, then I got the R100 balance of my change. (R180 in total change). Coincidence? Mistake?

I suggest Knowles Spar issue a receipt each time when a Lotto ticket is sold (displaying change etc.), and clear display a sign at the Lotto counter to \Check Change before leaving"."""
