Selling rotten vegetables as madness special

Once again I got myself fooled by this Spar with some rotten vegetables. I've noticed that most of the time they will have mega specials on fruits and vegetables on their stock to bring some feet. While they are doing that, we as consumers will be so excited and quickly run there to take advantage on these prices.But neither we kwn that most of this items are rotten or expired.

Three months ago they had the some special on green peppers and I went there and bought three packs...to my surprise all three of them were rotten. I then later went to buy sweet potatoes going for R9.99 a pack. Wow...great stuff, I went there and bought two pockets and once again they were rotten. My highlight once again was today ...Visited their store for breakfast stuffs. I got myself one sweet corns pack of 4 going for R14.99. Well it was cheap cos Pick'n Pay ones are R20.00. I got home to cook them and after sometime I took them out. I took one and it was tasting very funny and I continue eating thinking maybe I didn't boiled them well. But the second one became worse.

I then woke up and went to Spar to lay complain about this incident. I found a gentleman waiting by the manager's desk. I asked him if I could see a branch manager. He politely went and ask him. Funny part was that the manager passed me and continue with his daily job like nothing happened. At that moment m still standing, and once again he came and pass me by and went to butchery dept. Feeling frustrated by his actions I went to confront him asking why is he not attending me.

The manager acted clueless as he was having a session with his team. I told him about my previous experiences with their vegetables and I also told him how frustrated I am about this. The guy did wanna kwn wht happened though I was very angry and loud. The only thing he said to me was "THANK YOU" and he walked away and continue with his job.

This is the kind of services and treatment we I normally receive from that spar. This only comes to one thing this store is probably doing. They buy long stored vegetables in bulk and dump them to their shop and make these cheapest prices. M not even sure what could be found on that Spar if some inspectors can come and conduct some random checks on their fruit and vegetables.

Well...Mr Branch Mananger keep your sweet corn...I 've left them there on your precious table where you normally do your management duties and say "THANK YOU" when we complain.
