Salmonella for Free

I purchased chicken breasts on a special at SPAR Hobart Grove along with one of my siblings. We live in separate houses and prepare meals separately, thus buying the same product for different households. My chicken was kept frozen as well as his until the point where I wanted to prepare my meal. Upon defrosting the chicken it had the worst smell to the extent where I realized the chicken was off and had to throw it away. When I told my sibling of this incident he mentioned that the same happened to him where the chicken was kept frozen until preparation. This leads me to believe that the chicken was on special and shelve dates was extended therefor not being fresh when defrosted. This to me is a major health concern seeing that this took place in 2 separate households with the same product bought at the same store. Unfortunately one cannot demand any refund or return and but only complain and thank SPAR for the free packaged salmonella.
