Ridiculous withdrawal limit at Spar in Maitland...

I am very unhappy about the customer service that I received from Spar in Maitland...i work next to the Centre at 733 Matland Park. The Capitec atm was out of order so I went to Spar to withdraw some money...i had to purchase something to get this done...i needed R1200 urgently and the manageress told me that i can only get R1000...how do you tell me how much money I need or how much I can withdraw...this does not happen at any other store. I am sure that there is a limit but it surely cannot be R1000...please pardon and excuse me if I am wrong.
