Ridiculous reasoning from management
Unreasonable management - Now and again in the past I have used Spar instant money which is supported by Standard Bank so there was nothing new when a friend sent me a message to say they urgently need help. After a few chats on whatsapp I went to deposit R15000 via instant money and when I got there I was told to enter the number I want to send money to which I did then I was told to enter it again which I did. When I left the Spar Malvern I phoned my friend to give her the pin code when there was no answer and I got a message saying she is in a meeting I should send the number by SMS I realised that my friend's number has been ******. I thought I am safe since I did not give the pin code. I phoned Standard Bank and was told the money has been withdrawn I was furious demanded to know how and they told me that I entered one number for the sender and receiver and that is where my problems was. I was insistent that I was not asked for my number and went back to the Spar where I met the manager who was adamant that they only use one number for the sender and receiver because to do it otherwise results in clients being ****med. This did not make sense to me and what's worse is if you put in the wrong number there is no way of you getting the money back because you are the sender and receiver in that way. I was angry because I lost money but the manager at Malvern Spar called Blessing did not understand why its wrong to use one number and Standard bank blames the spar and does not take any responsibility even when I had explained that the spar are doing this deliberately and are not getting it that its flawed. Its fine for them to take the money and not the responsibility I expected better from Standard Bank. For a manager of Spar to insist that putting one number is the best solution speaks volumes, It should not be difficult to understand why you need to punch the correct numbers of the sender just in case.
