Reward Card terrible service

I register for the new green Spar Rewards Card. My handbag was subsequently ****** and the card lost with it. I have now been informed that I cannot apply for another card unless I have another phone number. This is absolutely ridiculous in the day and age that a card cannot be cancelled and a new one issued. No other reward card works that way
