Refund of transaction
I have purchased at Vorna valley spar a month ago. Money was deducted from my account twice and they said that it will be credited next day. Next day money didn't come through and I went to store physically and they told my card is international card and it will take 14 days to refund. Now 1 month passed and nothing has happened. I came to store today and store manager tells me that I have to go to my bank physically to get my money back after 1 month story after story.

Thank you for bringing this experience of duplicated card transactions to our attention. When this happens the transaction response to the store 'time out's so the store doesn't receive the money twice but the SMS to the customer goes through and the funds are withdrawn from the customer's account. This then goes into a holding account at the bank and only the cardholder can dispute the transaction. Please contact:
FIRST NATIONAL BANK *** (Select Option 3)
NEDBANK ***
STANDARD BANK *** or ***
ABSA *** or ***
CAPITEC ***
This happens to all retailers and the banks are desperately looking for an industry solution. Please be assured that if we could fix this we certainly would as it is damaging to our reputation and if the store received the money twice we will immediately refund it.
