Poor Spar Standards

There is currently a Spar store in Parow West Cape Town South Africa Western Cape. Since the Mckintire store on the corner of Voortrekker and Mckintire Rd has been taken over by the head office things have gone from bad to worse. They may have given the store a face lift but have failed with regard to the following Short staffed, nothing upsets people more than having to stand in long queues and only 3 cashiers available. Trolleys and grocery baskets are not in place. Merchandisers are outside the store on irregular smoke breaks while shelves are not property stocked and Labled. Fridges are a permanent issue. Currently for the past 3 weeks f&v dairy and juice as well as the one at the bakery are not working as the store. Manager is waiting for approval to sort it out . But 2 are running unnecessarily costing electricity and using the Coke fridge to put dairy in that's also running warm is a huge problem. Then if you go out into Voortrekker road and look at the flags they look like they were put there years ago. Is that the pride you have in your Store. I forgot inside the shop by the cordial isle the roof to the front is going to fall on someone one day. Yet the head office staff comes in the store walks around and says a few things and ******s off. Back in the day such nonsense was unacceptable.. Policy is fully stocked and up to date labels on the shelves and floor and gondolas clean store friendly caring knowledgeable staff, service departments that have you coming back for more, cashiers on their place giving you the warm smile thanks for shopping at the store. Managers who are visible and controlling the supervisors to make sure everyone is doing their best. Also taking the time to listen to customers gripes and compliments and not hiding away. Spar head office is more interested in modules and DC policies. It doesn't work that way. I worked for the brand long enough to know something is not right. Really Retail is not Rocket Science.
