Poor quality in product and Service
Spar Cinnamon Square (Bean Tree)
An extremely awful experience myself and partner had at Spar Cinnamon Square.
As per tradition, we took a drive though Strand on Sunday morning for an amazing Sunday drive. Our first stop was Spar Cinnamon Square to get a cup of coffee before settling down at Gordon's bay. We pulled in at Bean tree Cinnamon Square for a quick coffee as we love the coffee and service at the Zevenwacht branch. Please note this was our first time at this branch.
We entered the store with high expectations and everything just went downhill from there. We walked up to the till and the two ladies that were there took 5 minutes to notice us waiting on them. When one of them eventually came to assist us, she didn't even acknowledge me be greeting back. She then proceeded to make the coffee at her own time. When the machine finished with the filtration, she threw half of the coffee down the drain and filled it with PIPING HOT milk. I couldn't even pick it up because it was way to hot. I had to ask for another cup to just walk away with the coffee. Once walking away the coffee burnt my fingers while still in the store I would consider this First-degree burns. Despite the extreme uncomfortable nature of there burns we left without making a scene since there was families having breakfast. But our entire journey was disrupted. As I just needed to get home and keep my finger cold to reduce any further swelling.
Upon entering my car. I placed the coffee in front of the air-con to cool down and after 5 min or so we took a sip of the worse coffee know to man.it was utterly disgusting. It was still fairly hot that it burnt my lip, there extra cup was also to warm to handle, and there was no taste of coffee in the cup. If anything it tastes like piping hot paper/ cardboard. Im extremely disappointed by the service.
SPAR is a big cooperation and I would expect them to have staff that know how to work an industrial coffee machine – it was clear to me that the lady working the machine had absolutely know clue. She was most definitely not a qualified barista hence she making awful cup of coffee which is extremely hot which could lead to customer endangerment. Such negligence of SPAR could lead to serious customers litigations.
