Poor and very unprofessional services

So the incident occurred on the 14th of December 2024, the past weekend.

What was supposed to be a exciting morning of our 6y olds birthday party and our wedding anniversary left me very confused, unhappy and escorted out of the store by security for doing nothing wrong and being falsely accused of swoping labels to save R10.00 by the very rude unprofessional owner.

My wife drives to Montana Superspar orders 36 hamburger buns to be collected 08:00 14 December 2024. This was for my sons birthday party.

Saturday 14 December 2024

Arrive at Superspar Montana 08:00 to pick up our order placed the previous day to find out that they are not ready for collection and will only be ready 08:30. I told the Spar employee that its no problem and that i will wait for them but i will do other shopping and pay in meantime.

I was tasked to get tomatoes and Lettice for the burgers, after walking past the watermelons i remembered us discussing getting a watermelon. There were 6-10 watermelons in the crate. At that moment i noticed the following descriptions on the label. Waterlemon Full - packed 11.12.24 - sell by 30.12.24 for R69.99. Just to mention i inspected all of them to select the best one and all of them had the same price tag on.

I took my tomatoes, Lettice and watermelon to the counter to pay. When the spar employee at the counter tried to scan the barcode for the watermelon an error occurred where the lady in charge came and inspected. The lady at the till removed the label to find the following label underneath. Watermelon - packed 01.12.24 - sell by 25.12.24 - R 79.99.

She the made a mistake by scanning the outdated R79.99 price tag where i then informed her of her mistake and that all the watermelons are priced @ R 69.99. I even asked her politely to walk with me to the watermelons to confirm. The lady the confirmed it was a mistake and that the correct price is R69.99.

Walking back to the counter i removed on of the other remaining water melons price tag to see if this on will scan.

Walking back to the counter the owner yells to the store manager to come take a look at the watermelons that the clients are changing the price tags to which i rep**** to that that was not the case. He had such an attacking attitude and did not even try to hear my side of the story. He even mentioned in front of the whole store(shoppers and employees) that i need to calm down and that he would give me R10....Being accused of changing labels to get R10 off. This is pathetic and poor service not to mention from the owner.

Keep in mind that at this point i still did not have my 36 hamburger buns and have not complained once.

Around 08:20 I left the store after paying for the items and being blamed of...*****ing keep in mind still trying to figure out what i did wrong. take note i have photos of the price tags as proof. Also take note of the price tag descriptions.

Upon reentering the store to collect my 36 hamburger buns i was met by the employees which was involved and also the manager which begged me not to lay an complaint and to forgive the owner. My response was that how can i forgive the owner if he did not even have the decency to find out what the issue truly was. clearly with him the customer is always wrong. i was then met with the security asking me to leave the store...keep in mind still waiting for my 36 hamburger buns and not complaining a word that its way past 08:00 which was the original order collection date and time. i then insisted on speaking with the owner to get clarity on the excessive force used when in fact his company(Superspar) was 100% at fault. Even the employees confirmed my innocence.

Funny thing is upon reentering the store to collect my hamburger buns i noticed that all the watermelons have been removed and that now all of a sudden they were re stocking.

I am more than happy to open this to the public as i have nothing to hide.

I am sure the owner has video footage of the whole incident along with the employees. Who i must say were so afraid of loosing their jobs.

So my question is this, can you relabel items that previously had sell by dates on them?
