Off meat and promotional products

I wish to formally lodge a complaint regarding the unacceptable experience I had at Clubview SPAR on 30 November 2025.

Upon inspection of the meat section, I found the lean mince to have an off brownish colour, indicating that it was no longer fresh. The Holland steak displayed similar discolouration, appearing light brown and even starting to turn green. This raises serious concerns about food safety, quality control, and proper stock rotation within the store.

Furthermore, your weekend special advertising whole chickens at R49.99/kg was not honoured. No stock was available at the promotional price, and the only whole chickens on the shelf were marked at R62.99/kg. Several staff members stated that they were not aware of the promotion, despite us showing the Facebook adverti*****t and SMS that was distributed last week. This reflects a clear breakdown in internal communication and promotional compliance.

I also sent photographs of the spoiled meat to Conrad, yet received no acknowledgement or response. This lack of accountability is extremely concerning.

Due to these issues, we left our entire basket of groceries and proceeded to shop at Sutherland SPAR instead.

I request that this matter be addressed urgently, with appropriate corrective action taken to ensure compliance with food safety standards, staff communication, and promotional accuracy. I would appreciate written feedback on the steps that will be taken to prevent a recurrence.
