Not encouraged to shop here again

The Edgemead SPAR is conveniently located for us. It's a few minutes from home and we've been shopping there for over 2 years, out of convenience. The increasingly poor service and poor attitude of staff is unfortunately wearing us down. They also don't always seem to stick to trading hours, or just forgot to update the new hours . Whilst the Bothasig SPAR had boxes full of the Zyliss promotional knives in stock, Edgemead just had continuous excuses, empty promises and wasted customers' time in line to check whether any of the fabled stock had arrived. Cashiers with bad attitude, who squash one's produce and regularly shorted people on promotional tokens ; and thought the customers didn't notice. The weekly specials was a positive for a while, and good value for money. Apparently the store's inability to recruit and retain good staff is preventing them from offering this on a regular basis these day (not my opinion, shop attendant's own words). Last straw today when a manager was rude to my wife, on returning a box of wine one of his cashiers rang up as a cheaper product in error. We opened the box recently and saw it's not what we paid for, so wanted to return it for the cheaper product. Haven't had the time to return it during the past weeks, without having it stand in a very hot car all day long, so returned it today. Our honesty was rewarded by an unpleasant and aggressive attitude of "why didn't you return it sooner?". Will henceforth be taking our business to another retailer in the area, only a few minutes ****her away. This means that we won't spend money at the other local stores in the mall either. Well done SPAR to support the neighbourhood and local businesses!
