No Thanks, MySpar!
Arrived at Spar, 5mnth old baby, my husband and myself. There was a confrontation going on with a drunk man. The manager, Jan, slapped him through the face, escalating a potentially dangerous situation. We were escorted into Spar safely by another manager and witnessed several shoppers just leave their goods and walk out. Although we did speak to a couple with two children who, like us were too afraid to leave. The shouting got louder but eventually stopped. Still anxious, as I am epileptic so cannot carry my child, leaving my husband to carry her and thereby not able to defend us, we approached Jan, asking if it was safe to go to our vehicle. He glanced up and said he didn't know where the drunk man went. We were offered no escort to our car to make sure that we were safe and the indifference towards us left us very angry. We then decided to speak to Jan and the owner about how outraged we felt at Spar's total disregard and indifference towards us. We were told that the owner was in a meeting, and spoke to Jan who treated us with arrogance and annoyance. Spar-Kilner Park-quick to escort us in safely to spend our hard earned money. Couldn't care less afterwards. Parents beware.
