Mellerware kettle

Good evening

We bought a Mellerware kettle in March 2020 at Grabouw Superspar. And Thursday morning (8 October 2020) it stopped working. My sister and I decided to take it back today(11 October 2020) When we got at the shop they tested the kettle and it worked. And they refused to refund or to exchange it. They said it's working they'll not exchange or refund us. They said maybe our plugs are not functioning well. Now again it's not working at home. However other electrical appliances are working.

Please assist. We have a slip.
