Kwikspar sells me expired beer.

I went to Kwikspar Crossways in Bluff, Durban yesterday(17/06/2021) to purchase a case of Lion quarts for the fathers day weekend as bottle stores are closed on the weekends due to the lockdown restrictions.

I opened 1 bottle of beer last night only to find out that it is flat and tastes stale. I checked all 12 bottles and there is no expiry date on any of the bottles. I then contacted S.A.B and told them my findings. I asked if they could check with the barcode on the bottle if it was expired and was told that the barcodes are only for the suppliers, I should contact the supplier and ask them directly.

I then contacted the manger ****m here at Kwikspar Crossways, Bluff and told him about the beer being flat and no expiry date on any of the bottles. He said that there is nothing that he can do until Monday and I should come in on Monday with the beers and my till slip.

My issue is that now I am sitting with a case of old beer which I cannot drink and was supposed to be for this fathers day weekend celebrations. I purchased the beer before the lockdown restrictions of the weekend, abiding by the law and now I am stranded! Neither Kwikspar nor S.A.B can help me and my plans to have a good fathers day weekend with my dad is now ruined! I understand the lockdown restrictions with no sale of alcohol during the weekends. However what happens to all my plans? Fatherday comes once a year and now its ruined. ****m told me that there was a shortage of Lion beers for 2 months and they get thier supply for S.A.B. S.A.B told me that they will not supply expired beer to any of their resellers. So where did this beer come from? Spar should not be selling expired beer and I would like to know why this was for sale in the first place. I am bitterly dissatisfied and disappointed.
