How to ruin a kid's birthday cake...A guide by Spar Vangate

On 5 Jan I called the Vangate Spar to confirm that they still do picture cakes, as they had done my son's cake the previous year. They confirmed yes they do and I can bring my own picture as that is what I wanted. I took my picture into the store on that same day and again asked if they could do it. I was told yes. They mentioned that Osman's does pictures and I said that I wanted them to do it. They asked the colour of the decor, I said red and blue mostly but they can follow the pic. I was asked chocolate or vanilla, I requested chocolate. When I collected my cake on 7 January I was appalled. Instead of an edible version of the picture I gave them, they had placed the actual photograph onto the cake. Who does that? it is unhygienic for one thing and looked terrible on the massive cake. The colours they used was mostly green, including the ribbon going around the cake. And the cake was not chocolate as I found when I cut it at home. It was vanilla. I logged this onto Spar's page as a complaint on 10 January but they don't care about customer opinion or that their ***** up ruined what was meant to be an amazing part of my son's birthday. I had to pay R300 for something I did not want. And all the manager I spoke to could offer me was a chocolate cake and that they would sort out their internal process. I did not want a chocolate cake; I wanted what I had ordered and paid for, instead I was given what They felt was good enough. Well it wasn't. I could not serve half the cake as I do not think a photograph on a cake is hygienic. I will Never utilise this poor excuse for a "SERVICE" again, as I honestly feel ******.
