disgusting treatment of the elderly at Spar Bredasdorp

On Black Friday Spar in Bredasdorp falsy accused my almost 81 year old mother who does not have a good memory anymore of theft. She had NOT even LEFTthe PREMISSES when her she was stopped and her bag was searched. She told me had forgetten a pack of R7.95 pink polony she had purchased the previous day for her dog in there and wasnt even aware that she forgot to take it out. The secirity guard was extremely rude and threatrning. She would not allow my mother to explain that she did have the slip at home because she bought it the day before and had forgotten it. She just kept shouting at her "where is your slip!" while at the same time refusing to hear her. At this my mother asked for a Manager to come so she can explain to them what had happened. But whoever was on duty send a message back that there will be no favours here the law must take it couse (keeping in mind that my mom is completely innocent and her only crime being old and forgetful) To further intimidate my mom she even took out a pair of handcuffs in slammed it down on the table in the back office ahe had hauled my mother into. They kept her there for a very long time searching through footage but found NOTHING. Then the police arrived and the security told them that another staff member had alterted her that she must watch my mom because she was moving around too much and she saw her put something in her bag. Now suddenly this person is no-one. Everyone just says it wasnt them.The police ended up listening and took my mother home in their vechile (for all her neighbours to see -thank you Spar management that you could not do this yourself after the elderly CUSTOMER told you she did have a slip) The police lady found the slip with my mom and in fact they were the only people that did not treat my mother like a stray DOG in a town she has lived in for 50 years! The police took my mom back and showed a manager the slip. My mom had to go find the owner of Spar herself and he has done nothing to compensate her for the ordeal she had to endure. He gave a weak apology and said they would handle ot differently in future if someone says they have a slip at home. My mom wants an apology from the two people who accused her falsely. The guard and whoever said quite incorrectly that they saw her put something in her bag. The owner told her he would investigate and get back to her -yet he never took her number..mmm And she went back to him today to find out his "results" - honestly how long does it take to ask someone who told you you saw the lady put something in her bag. If it was me i would have appologised with some effort at sincerity and given her a bunch of flowers or a cake from the deli and assured her this would be seen to that it never happens again. Instead she is being strung along in an effort to restore her dignity by someone who does not want to do the right thing and probably wont because hes waiting to see if a lawyers letter shows up in all likeleyhood. Someone who gives staff powers not in line with what is allowed. As the security actually told the police yes she can act on this manner she is allowed to when they questioned her actions. Thank you to SAPS Bredasdorp for listening and treating my mother with respect. To SPAR Bredasdorp you disgust me! I am livid! How would you feek if someone treated your mom like that! Hope your feel good that you managed to stop the non theft of R7.95. Please give your banking details then i will deposit anothe R7.95 in it since you are so desperate for every cent that you wont even hear and old defenseless woman!
