DEFINITELY NOT MASTERCHEF-WORTHY PRODUCTS OR SERVICE

There is, without a doubt, nothing Masterly about the way Spar handled my complaint about their Masterchef glass lid. What a huge letdown their promotional after-sales service is!!! One has to spend a small fortune to fill a booklet, hand over additional cash on top of this to buy the pot/pan of your choice and then fork out extra money to buy a lid to make optimum use of said pot/pan. I was filled with excitement when I bought my pan, took a deep breath and bought a matching glass lid for R329 (in retrospect, not a competitive price AT ALL) and off I went. Fast forward 6 months and the knob of my lid starts feeling shaky (the lid has never fallen and was always treated with utmost care) so I asked my other half to tighten the ***** of the knob. He warned me though that the threads were looking worn out. I shrugged it off as it is a Masterchef lid after all! Well, less than a week later, the knob falls off and is unable to be re-attached. A call to head office as well as this store where I made the purchase yielded no satisfactory results: "Sorry madam, but we have no lids in stock and neither does the supplier. The promotion is over so we can't help you." Really?? You have my money, you sell me a product of inferior quality and think that it's ok to treat a customer in this way! I am livid and vowed to NEVER EVER participate in one of Spar's promotions again. A word of caution to everyone out there, if their promotional items break within a short space of time and the promotion is over, kiss your money good-bye.
