Damaged goods

I went into Spar, Heidelberg, Western Cape, yesterday to purchase a can of pie apples. There was only one can on the shelf which had a bad dent in it. The price was also high at R44.99 for the can. I pointed out the dent and asked for a reduction in price because of the dent. I was informed they no longer reduce prices of damaged goods. Is this the standard policy now of all supermarkets? What has happened to integrity? What has happened to the policy of reducing of reducing prices of damaged goods....I am supposing next we will be paying full price for expired goods too. Spar...your policy sucks!!!
