Chicken, oh no maggot curry inside
Please find attached as requested photos of maggots in the chicken curry I purchased on 21/04/2018 evening, as you can see it unacceptable for this to happen. The Constantia Western Cape Spar has definitely gone down in the quality and freshness of the produce they sell, and I would urge you to investigate this urgently.
Kind Regards Eugene Marais
This was the email sent to Spar, response below:
Good Morning Eugene
I have looked into this matter, and it seems as though that was some basmati rice that got into our large chicken curry, please accept my sincerest apologies for this. We serve the same smaller chicken curry with basmati rice, and some rice grains got into the large curry. I have brought it to the staff member’s attention who creates and packages this dish, and I appreciate you bringing it to our attention
Please accept my apology and let me know if I can send you some other meals that you may enjoy to Alphen Spar?
Kind Regards
They have insisted the maggots in the chicken curry was basmati rice, to give a background to everyone reading this review, I have studied hotel management at the Cape Technikon and hold a diploma in hotel management. My studies included food safety and culinary studies which leaves me with good judgement as to what a maggot looks like and what a basmati rice grain looks like.
So Spar will not see me in any of their stores, its disgusting that they have a denial attitude.
Good luck to anyone purchasing from Spar you will get more than bargained for with maggot invested food.
