Charged extra to buy electricity using a debt card
Good day

I would like to bring to Headoffices attention that the Quick Spar in Vredehoek, Cape Town charges an extra 5% fee if one purchases electricity using a debit card. I have been charged on 2 occassions and decided to google whether it is legal.

This act is in contravention of the CPA which states, in brief, that the advertised price may not be inflated. It also violates their merchant's agreement with their bank, which states that they may not pass on their bank fees to their customers.

I therefore request that Headoffice reprimands the Vredehoek branch and put an end to this ******* act.

Kind Regards

Edward
