Carlswald Spar Disappointing Attitude

Good day

I bought a Simply Chicken Polony Loaf from Vorna Valley Spar (as I was in the area) on Saturday, 05 August, but forgot to have it sliced, at the Deli

On Sunday, I went to Carlswald Spar, hoping that they will be able to assist. I live opposite Carlswald Lifestyle Center, and this is my preferred shopping Center, as it is convenient for me.

Management was initially willing to assist, but when he looked at my till slip, and realized that I bought it from Vorna Valley, he refused

Even though I bought it from a Spar with a proof of purchase, they were unwilling to help. This is not the first time, I have received cold service from Carlswald Spar.

All the staff, from both food counters, cold meat deli and the bakery are indifferent, unfriendly, and are just there because they need their job.

This is rather sad and disappointing. People are in jobs as they need to put food on their tables, and not because they enjoy what they do, especially retail staff, who are over-worked and underpaid

I don't blame the staff for being negative and hostile, and I understand polices and procedures. But Management being so inflexible, unaccommodating and not recognizing the value of a customer is exactly what contributes to the poor customer service in this country.

I walked out of that store defeated. People are not passionate anymore, and are not willing to go the extra mile, or bend over backwards for their customers anymore. This is the sad reality.
