Careless response

One would think when one lodges a concern directly with an organisation, the organisation would respond. Evidently, with Spar, this appears not to be so.

In March already I submitted a concern I had over the line of quality (if any) Spar maintains or even has related to its Freshline products. A month later, April, the customer care advisor, "Luyanda Dlamini" responded with the reference number being: Ref CC ********** 41, and stated (in writing) that contact will again be made within 7 days. None was made; which makes one really wonder is Spar's Freshline products of poor value and even lesser quality?
I followed up with Luyanda again on 20 May to establish what the outcome of the issue was, seeing no effort was made to provide feedback.
Luyanda responded on 23 May stating that she has "escalated this for [...] to Head Office and await their [head office] feedback.
Ever since, no communication was issued regarding this matter.
What was the issue?
This was what I sent via their online form:
Good day, This is an issue that was encountered in March, where I purchased your Freshline Brown Mushrooms (30 March) and only when at home discovered that the product already expired the day before: 29 March. Having returned it to the store, the store manager gave me two packs of mushrooms of a different kind (that I could select), yet what struck me was the fact that ALL the brown mushrooms (Freshline) were expired. Is there no form of quality control that Spar ensures? At the same Spar, but a year ago, I purchased Simply Chicken viennas and only at home, a day later, discovered the product has expired. I returned to the store with proof of payment and the store manager gave me a different pack, but even there, at that time we saw that ALL of the Simply Chicken viennas were expired, yet Spar had it on shelf to be sold. (With the Simply Chicken issue, I took it up RCL Foods, as Spar's then manager said that it is their [RCL Foods] who are to ensure quality control; but the concern still remains: Why does Spar sell expired products?) Again I ask: Is there no form of quality control Spar maintains/abides to when it comes to perishables they sell from their shelves? With the recent issue pertaining to the mushrooms, I became concerned, as you would perhaps know of the news story of a family who consumed mushrooms - though poisonous and picked from their garden - [http://www.timeslive.co.za/thetimes/2014/12/17/mushroom-dinner-****s-four-in-family], how does one know whether Spar maintains product quality when it sells expired food? Perhaps this issue could only be pertaining to the Spar where I purchase from, yet even if that is the case, certainly there has to be consistency in the brand communication regarding "Spar"?

It remains decent to respond, even if you, as a brand/organisation are clueless as to *what* and *how* to respond.
Remember, consumers consume your products. Have the decency to advise *what* on earth your standard of quality is; or if you, Spar, even have any form of quality control over your products.
