Birthday cake flop

I woke up at 6am to be at the store when it opens to place an order for a cake for my son who was turning 5 today. I got to the store just as they were opening. I was assisted by the manager Paul whom I told the exact type of cake I wanted. We agreed that we will collect the cake at 1pm, which we did. To my dismay when we got home and cut the cake...it was not fresh at all. I can't explain disappointment especially when none of the kids could finish it. I expected better as this was recommended by a friend.
