Bad chicken from Spar

Bought a pack of chicken fillets (R52-41) at Spar Century City, Cape Town on Sunday morning 14 Feb. Took home and put in the fridge. Took it out on Monday 15 Feb in the afternoon to cook for supper and noticed on opening the package that the chicken was off - terrible smell! Immediately bagged it and threw it out. Looked for the slip in garbage, found it but it had more or less disintegrated by then. Took the packaging back to Spar Century City this morning 16 Feb and of course Manager did not want to know - stated that store policy says she has to see the item before taking action. So I am expected to keep rotten chicken in my fridge overnight then in my vehicle the next day back to the store? Right. Won`t be buying chicken again there anytime soon.
