Atm *******

Today (24 July) at 12.30 my mum decided to visit the kwikspar at Westridge Park stadium(153 Jan smuts highway) to use the atm and make a purchase knowing she would be in safe hands because she was inside a store. As she waited to use the atm, someone walked from the capitec atm acting as if he was just done using the atm towards her stating that the machine was not working and escorted her to the other machine.The machine was completely blank, she tells him it's blank and he goes on to say yes mom is automatic, as she picks up her card he pulls it out of her hand saying not this way mum the other way, then inserts the card and says not you can put in your pin, after watching the camera footage I see as she looked down to key in her pin, he quickly slides the card out under a white paper, she says nothing is happening, he then says yes mum put your pin in again, whilst she is doing so there is someone else behind standing at a distance, taller than her looking over at her pin. She then says leave it I'll go to another atm, as she says so they walk away and drive off in a white polo to the caltex garage 3min away and draw out all her cash. At this point my mum yells out for assistance thinking her card is in the atm,nobody attends to her, the manager is on his phone blatantly ignoring her, the guard then walks towards her slowly with no sense or urgency even after her screening 'it's an emergency can someine help me' she tells the guard her card is in the machine. The guard responds by saying no it's not, that guy took your card and he is gone, so she says can you help me please, he says no I don't have a phone.she then runs to the manager stating its an emergency and she needs to block her card,he ignores her and continues to attend to her call, she tells again asking him to help her contact the bank, he hands his phone over and says you can use it. I urge all shoppers to please be vigilant as you cannot be safe even inside a well reputed store. I would like to remind all kwikspar workers about their promise and what the brand says that they stand for. It is clearly stated apart of the kwikspar training. #we are apart of a community and a community is family #caring culture to ensure our customers feel safe #uniquely friendly and family orientated #you are apart of our family Clearly the staff have forgotten these values that has made spar well known over many years. This is not the first incident, it has happened previously, I feel the spar Staff need to go back to the role and why spar originated to make sure spar lives up to its well renowned name.It is really heart sore to watch an elderly person go through this, I urge people to please be vigilant,even in a place like kwikspar which is situated right next to a police station. The store always has an unsafe feeling. The store needs to be revisited and taken back to basics which include the level of hygiene that is practiced especially in a time like this.
