Unfair treatment with regard to product return at Spar Supermarket

Yersterday 25 February 2026, I went to buy Maize meal (Super Sun) 10Kg at Spar, when I arrived home my maize seemed spoiled and had molds in it , you could see it was in the rain or water had gotten into it, it was beyond a condition which I could try to cook it I returned the maize meal today, with hopes to be reimbursed my money and transport fee but Instead was met with and obnoxious attitude from both the supervisor and the floor manager, I showed them the maize and explained my issue and they said to me verbatim "You should take this issue up with Supersun company", I bought the product from Spar which is why I was perplexed, instead of taking accountability and compensating me they tried to explain why the Maize had been in this condition, which highlighted their lack of quality assurance and customer satisfaction The floor manager (Sam) and Supervisor (Tshegofatso) (as per their name tag) gave me a refund but refused to compensate me for my transport fee, they were unapologetic fir my situation and could careless for the inconvenience if cost me to go back and forth for their product they sold me. The lack of empathy and consider is disheartening, it also points at the lack to quality assurance, control and management. This is food had I not been able to detect the mold I potentially could've ended up sick . This is my cry for help, Spar Soshanguve does not treat consumers with respect and undermine their dignity and nutrition needs. May they please reimbursed me my transport fee
