Refund for unused accommodation

We booked this facility via AirB&B, unfortunately on realised that the bed was converging in the middle and informed the landlord about it. The landlord (James) came and saw for himself and he agreed that he will refund us money for the remaining two nights so that we could look for an alternative accommodation of which we did find. However he was not truthful to us because the money is not yet in our bank account and yet we did not stay for those two nights at his place.
