When the key is the key factor...

When you purchase a vehicle for nearly R80000-00, you would kind of expect that the key would at least not let you down, and cause an embarresment?

The guys are very friendly and everything, but when I drive a 2008 model Peugeot 207 and the electronic programmed key gives me problems within the first 6 weeks of driving the car....one tends to wonder. The key was forced open at some point, and taped shut. By the dealer, by the previous owner - no one knows apparently?

So said key disintegrated yesterday when I turned it. I could not start my vehicle again, and the alarm that went off convinced people I was trying to ***** a car.

Two questions I have - was it too much trouble having this fixed by the dealer, is that how we roll now, making it someone else's, insurance, buyer, driver etc's problem? The other one is why would you knowingly jeapordize people's safety when this could be foreseen?

But that's me - maybe we live in a society where it is someone elses concern. Someone else will sort it out.

Anyway, a lovely car to drive - if you can manage that with a key that was insolation-taped shut

Dear Customer,
We would like to express our gratitude for purchasing a vehicle from us and we are glad you are enjoying your new ride. It's unfortunate the key card version of a Peugeot key when it drops it can break and communication within the pad of the key can become a challenge hence you were having problems starting the vehicle.
Please kindly pop to our dealership and we would be glad to look at the key and see if we can do anything to repair key although we are not promising that we will succeed.
Hope to see you soon.
Regards,
