Sold me a accident damged as " NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT "
My father was on a trip to Johannesburg for a meeting . I wanted him to buy me a bakkie up there- the benifit beeing they will have no rust as opposed to cars at the coast. He went to Southgatewheels -BIG MISTAKE . My dad who is just an accountant brought my " Accident free , excellent condition " vehicle down to Mosselbay , unaware of the lies he had been told. When I saw the car , I was shocked . Cigarettes put out on the dash , the glass on the AC unit has been hit and cracked , the roof had been dented and the bonnet had lost its plastic clip for when you lift it up , so the previos owners has obviosly just slammed it down until it started denting out the top of the bonnett. My tyres were bald and the back "bak " was cracked trough the metal and had all its paint scratched off, I mean it was savage . But that's what we could see and I thought that's why it was well priced . I assumed it was mechanically sound as we were told . After the mechanic lifted the bonnet he was disgusted . It was re-sprayed , he noted the head had been removed , the crankshaft pulley was cracked and the timing was wrong , the timing belt had no cover . The alternator was noisy . Two of the three engine mounts were broken in some way from the crash - and the spray job from the cover up was poor. The oil pump was welded on because they broke the tensioner out and tried to save money . It's a Cheverolet Utility and drives slow with no power. I tried to get them to give me discount because of their ********** selling methods and poor attitude.
