DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE

Stay away from these people if you don’t want stress.

I bought a car from them (Audi Q3) on the 5th of September 2019, I went there with a guy friend so he could ask all the relevant questions about the car as I don’t know much about cars.

We got there spoke to Patricia, who was accompanied by her manager Tariq. We ask questions about the service of the car and they said it had been serviced, however when you put the key in ignition the service light went on, when I asked about that, I was told that it’s because they hadn’t reset it yet because they don’t have the machine but they will do it the next day when I collect the car, they even came with a badly written invoice of a “lube service” as their “proof of service”. After that the was a problem with the oils and oil filter, they sent a guy to have it fixed. I asked if the car was in an accident and Tariq specifically said the car was accident free. My friend went on to ask all other questions and on the day, no defects or issues of the car were made mention.

I went to collect the car the following day, on our way to Bloem, the oil light went on and I had to replace the oil, which I was told was replaced the previous day.

3 days after buying the car, I went to Audi in Bloemfontein, for them to “check” the car. 1. The car was not serviced since 2016, according to their records. 2. The car is actually 2012 model and not 2013 as per their ad. 3. The kilometers of the car were clocked back.

I called Patricia and let her know, she still insisted that the car was indeed serviced, both she and Tariq. They didn’t even touch on the model differences and the incorrect kilometers were blamed on the replacement of a cluster, which seems to be their story to every customer with the same problem.

A week after purchasing, we took the car to AA for a roadworthy assessment, the car dismally failed. And the guy told us the car was involved in a major accident prior to the sale. I called to let them know, Tariq was ducking and diving telling me that the issues the car has were not “major” he then advised me to take a warranty on the car so the issues could be solved. I did. I called the insurance company after to find out if they could help, they told me, if the issues are pre-existing they would not cover them. They told me waiting period is 90 days for your first claim, but Tariq said it was 5 days.

I was not told that the car had so many issues, I had signed a paper stating that they told me about them verbally. Which is a lie.

I took the car back to them, I had to tow it back because you can’t knowingly drive an unroadworthy car from Bloem to Joburg, he wanted to make an issue of it and asked me why the car was towed when I bought it in a running condition.

Those people are *****, they will say anything to save their skin, they will make up stories, they will deceive you, all they are after is money, they don’t care about you as their customers.

My case is with the motor industry Ombudsman and I will update the dealership and the public about how it goes.

Client was verbally informed prior to purchase that the vehicle had accident damage  and required repairs, client also signed a letter of acknowledgement that she was aware of this at time of purchase, which client has a copy of. The vehicle left the floor in a running condition, but was brought back on a tow truck.  Southgate wheels has since purchased the vehicle back from the client, based on the condition it was returned .
