Bad Service by Southgatewheels

I bought a Mercedes Benz Vito for my business on 09 February 2024 with a deposit of R200 000. The car looked good and drove well until I realised after about six weeks that there was an abnormally somewhere under the vehicle and sounded like a faulty suspension.

I contacted the salesperson Keveshan on 08 April 2024 and he advised me to take the vehicle to RMI approved mechanical workshop, in order for Southgatewheels to assist me further, which I did. It was discovered that stabilizer links and shocks mountains are faulty. The company made a quote of R10 832 which I sent it to Southgatewheels as requested.

Upon receipt of the quote/invoice, the Sales Manager Conrad indicated that they are able to repair the car cheaper (not sure how as the repair and maintenance company quoted on genuine Mercedes Benz parts, unless if Southgatewheels plans to use after sales parts).

He also insisted that I use the Warranty policy that they offered me take when buying the vehicle, I lodged the claim and it was declined by the insurer. I then gave Southgatewheels feedback on the outcome of the claim and Conrad was very surprised at the outcome and he even said "how can they (insurer) refuse to help with such a small amount"

He then said Southgatewheels will repair the vehicle and will let me know when to bring it in. It is disappointing that to date I have not been helped, Keveshan and his Manager, Conrad have indicated to me that they will find out from their workshop when to bring the vehicle as I am residing in Rustenburg, North West Province and they are in Gauteng Province.

It has taken exactly a month for Southgatewheels to resolve this matter, they hardly take my calls or respond to WhatsApp or email messages, if they do, they make empty promises. I do not get any updates as a customer would expect from a supplier. Just this past Friday and Saturday I called Conrad on his mobile phone and he didn't answer nor return my calls or respond to my sms. I am not using the vehicle for the purpose I bought it for as I am afraid the defects may damage the vehicle further.

I am not backing down on this one as the dealership is expected to have after sales support to the customers.

According to legal recourse, you may return the vehicle to the supplier without penalty and at the supplier's risk and expense, within six (06) months after the delivery of the vehicle.

This is my experience with Southgatemotors
