Unexplained power cut

I am currently staying at the Garden Court Marine Parade hotel in Durban. The power was cut from 11:30pm to 3am without explanation. Other hotels and the electricity on the strip remained uninterrupted. No announcement was made, no back up generators were provided. Hallways were pitch dark. I could not exit my room with safety. This level of service is unacceptable. No announcement was made. This causes a safety and security risk and does not bode well for travelers who trust the Southern Sun brand. I demand compensation for this incident as it interrupted my stay. I am on the 16th floor and could not exit the building with ease. The phone lines were dead, emergency numbers provided for the duty manager were not answered. Emergencies are not treated seriously at this hotel, I am uncertain as to what management would do in the event of a fire?
