Umhlanga Sands hotel a noise box

We recently spent our annual 2 weeks leave using our timeshare at Umhlanga Sands We came back frustrated - irritated and stressed Whilst the hotel is excellent from the point of cleanlyness - rooms and maintainance - the modus operandi of the daily entertainment program is nonsensical if your objective is to relax From 1000 - 2100 the entertaiment programs rangeing from kids entertainment to live music blasts the whole hotel with loudspeaker - amplifier backed music and microphine chatter to the extent that even on the top floor with the door closed you cannot escape the racket Its akin to being at a wrestling match- a horse racing day or a sports venue for a whole day - 7 days a week Although we fully support kids or any form of entertainment we feel there should be some reasonableness and respect and aknowledgement to other guests who do not wish to take part in the loud entertainment. They could restrict the times and lower the volume for example - to allow one to at least think - ocasionally Secondly the DSTV sports channeks are heavily weighted to soccer - about 5 of the 8 sports channels devoted to soccer - so we watched MotoGp and F1 for example on our cellphones- go figure Then theres the floodlight that partially shines into the room etc The main priblem is the noise - which you cannot get away from So if you want to relax - have a peaceful holiday - escape from the husle and bussle outside by going into your room dont go and spend R1500pp per night at Umhlanga Sands as the noise will drive you insane!! Our expenditure for a 2 week vacation to Umhlanga Sands cost us over R30000 - for two weeks vacation- thats including airfares from JHB - hotel levies - parking etc Its not worth spending this kind of money to aggravate yourself... Rather fly to hotels in New York or Rome - the rooms provide a little bit of peace - an escape if you like - from the outside noise
