Tsogo Sun Hotel serves Muslim Pork for breakfast

Yesterday (Sun 01/12/19) we had our worst experience at Tsogo Sun Garden Court Summer strand Port Elizabeth.

My husband and I decided to stay at the Garden Court in Somerset Strand, Port Elizabeth. My husband had been staying over for work from 26th November and i joined him from Friday, 29th December for breakfast.

We decided to extend our stay until Sunday, 1st December.

Unfortunately, on Sunday we had our worst experience, leaving us feeling nauseous and hungry.

We came back from our beach walk and sat down for breakfast. My husband ordered an halaal omelette like the previous days. The chef prepared the omelette and my husband sat down to eat it. To his surprise, he found meat in it. He spat it out and went to the chef.. the chef said that he had prepared the halaal omelette full house with pork........!!!

As Muslims we dont even use the same cooking utensils because of cross contamination. We would rather go hungry than to eat from same utensils, let alone pork due to our religious believes.

Its so disheartening that enough emphasis isn't placed on this basic phenomenon which is essential for us Muslims.

Muslims are very careful not to eat anything or go anywhere that may have been contaminated and this is going beyond contamination.

The matter was reported to the kitchen chef, kitchen manager, restaurant manager, hotel manager (PK)

I couldn't even eat after even though I was still really hungry. We have to get breakfast somewhere else

The kitchen staff especially a Chef to be trainnedf regarding these pertinent issues, that more signage is placed with regards to halaal foods so that the chefs and customers are more clear to what is expected. Furthermore I was a loyal customer to Tsogo sun however a further let down is that the management team made no further effort to contact me after this horrid experience.
