****** Cell phone

On the 1st March 2023 my phone (Huawei Nova )was ****** in Southern Sun Elangeni whilst attending a 3 day Conference that started on the 27th February. I immediately advised the reception and the desk stationed next to the Conference room where we attended. When I called my phone, it was already switched off. The hotel advised me that they will look into their cameras, as I was not sure if the phone was left in conference room or Bathroom. Due to that I was travelling to Eastern Cape, I gave them my husbands so that they contact us in the event they find something. They called to say they have not found the phone and advised that they are waiting for the security desk for its investigation. Up to this date, we have not received the report. When we call to enquire, they say they will call us, but we have not received their call. I have put this on Facebook account and a number of people have reported that they have lost their belongings in this hotel, and it has always made their fault. I so trust Southern Sun group of hotels, never expected such a very careless way when dealing with a matter. With how the matter is handled I am certain that it is known by the hotel staffers because I was only asked if the phone is not insured and that got me confused as to how the hotels enters in that. I am reporting this to you as I am tired dealing with hotel and what was strange was that even our conference organiser was not informed of this incident. He only knew about a week later from me. I hope we will get somewhere on the matter as I am not backing down especially taking into account on how the matter is handled.
