Southern Sun Pretoria Absolute NO GO.

Checked in to Southern Sun Pretoria. The bathroom is horrific. I requested a shower only and was told there is only 1 room in the entire hotel with a shower only and it was occupied. I used the shower that was disgusting and I could bearly put my feet flat. I went down and asked to check out and was not assisted. I paid with a virtual card and was told they can’t refund me as the numbers don’t match, but Virtual cards with their equivalent actual card never match with numbers. I waited completely stressed out as the reason for my stay is due to my daughter being in hospital and I needed to stay close by.

I was made to wait at reception for over 20mins until I was unable to wait as I needed to get back to the hospital. I left without a check out or refund.

After complaining via email, I received a phone call at a time I was unable to talk. When they called me 5mins later I didn’t feel comfortable talking and felt better to communicate over email where I had proof.

I was informed via email I need to pay R700 for using the bathroom. I don’t have a problem paying a fee but R700 is absurd.

I expect a full refund as the hotel couldn’t accommodate my request and the standards are not acceptable. Not for Southern sun and definitely not for the rate. Absolute *******. Please stay away from the hotel.

I am completely disappointed with Southern Sun. They always my preferred accomodation provider but after being treated the way I have been, my choice will always differ.
