****** and harassment.

I was mistreated, harassed and was racially profiled at this hotel!. I am completely disgusted that as a black South African woman I had to go through such a horrible experience, especially during women’s month!!. I was booked at this hotel with my partner for 4 nights. We arrived at 3am Tuesday 31 Aug. We checked in and were shown to our room. On the 3rd day (Wednesday 2 Aug) at around 8am I was coming back from an outside meeting and realized I had locked my key card in the hotel. When I requested an new card (which I have done a million times in hotels all over the worked more upscale then this hotel! And have NEVER experienced any mistreatment) I was told that I was not listed as a guest and that only my partners name was on there. First of all how does such an “upscale” hotel not manage to have documented that two guests where staying at room 2653 is beyond me as my partner and I arrived at check in AT THE SAME!. After explaining that I had been staying there for 3 days (10min later) they finally gave me a key to the room. After entering the room the hotel manger and his security barged into my room shouting, saying that I was a threat and wanted to see my documents!!! The security (white male) was rude and condescending saying that I was NOT booked in that room. This was COMPLETE racial profiling!! They did not bother to check with the person who checked us in, OR the porter that took our bags up upon check in, OR the waiters and cleaners who had seen me for the PAST 3 DAYS in the hotel OR check their hotel footage!. Instead they chose to barge into my room to intimidate and harass me!! I was completely traumatized and disgusted that as a black woman white males still feel they have a right to treat blacks people this way!!! Had I been a white male they would have handled this matter with more discretion and respect!!!! If you do not want to be treated like a second class citizen and racially profiled I will suggest you DONT ever book at this hotel!! I am completely appalled, traumatized and disgusted! I and will NEVER stay at this hotel again!!.
