I was refused assistance in my own language

I called Tsogo Sun to enquire on their rates and to get a quote that we as a group at work require to host a conference. ********** 300. A lady answered was a black lady and I picked that up through her English accent so I started speaking in Zulu and she asked me if I cant speak English I responded and said I can however since she can understand Zulu I would prefer to speak my own language. To my dismay she said its not allowed as calls are recorded. This for me is pathetic and unnecessary. Which company in this day and age operates only in English for customer service? I am disgusted to say the least and didn't bother to use any of their conference facilities. Apparently the staff get warnings if they assist in Zulu and may get fired. What harm can speaking your own language do as all the info is input on the computer? I may be just one client that feels this way and your company might not even care about it but its a principle and respect matter. I work for a very reputable company and as much as we know English is a business language we do not refuse to assist the client in their own language.
