False advertising from Tsogo Sun.

Booked a weekend over the school holidays and chose the elangeni because it advertises on their website that kids under 18 stay and eat breakfast for free and that there is a courtesy shuttle to the casino. (still does at time of writing).

However when i made the booking it added to my cost when I selected kids. The call centre said that is the way the system is setup. Arrived at hotel and was then informed they no longer have a shuttle to the casino. I informed the supervisor that I made a booking at the hotel because of this as i did not want to rent a car. A quick apology was the order of the day. The executive double room was spacious but the cupboard that hides the mini fridge did not have a handle. By the s****ping of the paint it was clear that many guests had / have the same issue.

I filled in the feedback form after my visit and was contacted by a lady named Carol. I explained to her again that I was unhappy about the shuttle which they advertise and as she was about to give her excuse the call dropped. I was driving in a poor cell reception area at the time. However she never called back and simply sent an email thanking me for our "conversation" and that she had forwarded my other concerns with regards to staff behaviour to the relevant heads. In my opinion the hotel is coasting on their reputation and not really caring about their customers. Another couple I spoke to said that they were informed that the parking fee was also not R50 as advertised. The pool staff were nowhere to be found so the pool area had 2x umbrellas and it was around 34'c. Breakfast staff were amazing, helpful and professional. The rest not so much.

False advertising from a giant such as Tsogo Sun is simply unacceptable. So forget the fine print, check the offer itself.
