Bad experience- bad service

I booked a family cottage with 2 bedrooms as I informed the hotel that I have my 2boys aged 13 and 9. Upon checking in I was shown a cottage with bedrooms to my surprise 😮 the second bedroom had a single bed 🛌 😴........ On their system it shows clearly booking confirmation for 2 adults and 2 kids. Bad experience............. I was initially told the cottage is next to the reception however that wasn't the case.
