Bad experience at Southern Sun at Elangeni

During my last of 4 nights at Southern Sun Elangeni, around 10:50 we had a loud knock at our bedroom door which we didn’t respond to and a few minutes our electricity was switched off. After calling the front desk maintenance was sent up to come restore our electricity. Looks like the dv board was somewhere in the corridor as maintenance didn’t come to our room. After a few minutes the electricity was off again and when I call the front desk I was told security will come check if there’s no one loitering around in the passage. This was so scary. Maintenance was sent up to restore our power again. This happened 4 times but each time I phoned front desk they couldn’t tell me what was happening but they said it was our room and the room next door that was affected. I could sleep well that night as there was no reassurance of safety from security idle the front desk. In the morning as I share this with my family it turns out one of the other rooms on a different section of the same floor also experienced the hard knock and they almost opened the door as they thought it was one of the family members (it was 7 of us on the same floor in 3 different rooms). I reported this to Thrimika, one of the managers in the morning that the lack of reassurance on our safety was a concern and we didn’t enjoy our last night at Elangeni.
