Disappointing Stay at Southern Sun O.R. Tambo International Airport

After our holiday in Mauritius, we missed our connecting flight to Durban due to a late arrival. We decided to stay at Southern Sun O.R. Tambo for the night, expecting a comfortable rest before our early morning flight on 05/01/2025. Unfortunately, our experience was far from pleasant.

The room was dimly lit and felt outdated, with uncomfortable beds and a bathroom that seemed stuck in the 1960s. The space was stuffy, and the air conditioning couldn’t be adjusted to a lower setting, making it difficult to sleep comfortably. On top of that, we were surprised to find that only one small bottle of water was provided for two people sharing the room.

We also called room service, as we were informed there was 24-hour service available, only to be told there were no halal meal options at that time—just cheese toast. Exhausted, we decided to make do for one night, but I believe the hotel could greatly benefit from a revamp to improve both the rooms and the services.

We sure would not be staying there again - Also I am a memeber and thinking of canceling
