Grade 9 son kicked out of school

My son was at this school last year (and since 2015) but due to Covid and financial issues and falling into arrears with school fees, my son has been "de-registered" and now his education is affected by my financial position. Although I am aware that this is not the school's problem...what happened to reviewing payment history and making arrangements to assist the parent for the benefit of the child who is actually the innocent (yet affected) party? Is it not a child's right to a basic education? Is everything now purely about financial gain? What happened to human compassion? Who does a single person turn to for help?
