SOUTH AFRICAN RELOCATIONS/STORAGE VAULT

I am writing this review to warn others about the disastrous experience we had with South African Relocations and their handling of my consignment from the UK. Originally, the shipment was handled smoothly by Solaris, a reputable company, but when South African Relocations became responsible for the delivery in South Africa, everything took a turn for the worse. They went into liquidation without informing us, and my consignment was handed over to Storage Vault. Not only did Storage Vault start charging us for storage--despite us having paid for a door-to-door service-but when we contacted them on Friday, we discovered that they were being evicted. All consignments, including ours, were set to be placed in a parking lot, with no proper storage facilities available. After weeks of being harassed for storage payments, it turns out there was no storage provided at all! In a desperate attempt to salvage what we could, we drove 2h30 to Kempton Park to collect part of our consignment. We were forced to contact other companies to collect the larger items, incurring additional costs on top of the payments we had already made for delivery. We dealt with Kobus from Storage Vault who claimed to not be a part of South African Relocations but when we arrived Friday afternoon, we saw him driving around in a South African Relocations branded car. A tad bit suspicious. Despite having collected our consignment, we've still received an invoice from Storage Vault for the month of October. This is a serious warning to anyone whose belongings may still be in Storage Vault's possession. You must act quickly to retrieve your items before they end up in a parking lot, street, abandoned, or worse. If you have a consignment with them, collect it as soon as possible! I tried ringing your cell phone line provided on your profile and the number was either constantly ringing or was not available. (In this mail I have also included clients that answered their mobile and are still to book a slot.)

Kindly note that South African Relocations ceased operations end of June 2024.

We sent through communications to all clients the first week of July 2024, informing them with regards to the situation at hand and also with regards to the way forward.

Unfortunately, your goods are part of the goods that are currently in our Gauteng warehouse. We kindly request that you collect the goods before the 28th of September 2024.

Please respond to this email with a date and time that you would like to collect your goods between today and Saturday the 28th of September 2024.

Thereafter clients that are not owing storage etc should kindly log a claim for a refund.
